Active Transportation Plan
Since 2017, the City and County of Lancaster have been working together on an Active Transportation Plan. This plan would provide a vision and goals to make Lancaster a more friendly and safe place for bicycles and pedestrians.
You can view information about the plan and updates at the project website:
The draft plan is expected in the fall of 2018.

Contact a Leader
Celebrate success and ask for improvements.
When you notice new perks for bicycles, say thank you! Whether it's a new trail, a new bike repair station, or better bike parking, send a note of thanks to the local officials, businesses, or advocates who made it happen.
On the other hand, if you see things that make bicycling unsafe and unpleasant, you should also speak up! Does your school or workplace need a bike rack? Do your local roads need better traffic calming to slow down speeding cars? Write a letter or call a leader to ask them for better bike amenities. If you're not sure who to contact, ask us!
